About Us...
The company was founded in 1988 under the name of Western Speciality Chemicals and traded as a partnership for a number of years.
Initially the company was based in Runcorn, Cheshire but due to rapid growth it became necessary to relocate to our current premises in Knowsley on Merseyside. This location consists of offices, laboratories and a production plant.
In 1992 Western Speciality Chemicals founded a wholly owned subsidiary company called Western Environmental Services Limited.
This company was specifically targeted at the rapidly growing “environmental” sector of the water treatment industry. Success was immediate and the company expanded considerably developing an impressive client base and a reputation for excellence in this specialised field.
In January 2000 the owners of the two companies took the business decision to merge the two companies into one entity known as Western Environmental Limited.
Still trading from the same office facility the company now employs 25 staff and has significant sales revenues in the UK.
Western holds accreditations to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and Safecontractor.
The business is also a member of the water treatment industries Legionella Control Association.
